Getting started is simple.

1

Build your profile

  • Highlight your lived experience, such as work as a PT aide, family caregiving, or recovery support.
  • Record a short intro video so members can get to know your personality and communication style.
  • Add the languages you speak, the cultures you know well, and identity preferences such as LGBTQ+ affirming care, so members can find someone who feels familiar.
2

Complete safety and identity screening

  • Verify your identity and government issued ID.
  • Complete a comprehensive criminal background check. Every Sabay helper is vetted.
  • Review the Sabay community safety and transparency standards.
3

Set your terms and start helping

  • Set your own hourly rate up front, with no hidden cuts or surprises.
  • Define your weekly availability and service radius.
  • Message or start an intro call with members to make sure it is the right match before confirming visits.

Why being a Sabay helper works for you

Real connections, transparent pay, and complete autonomy.

Total control over your rates and schedule

You are never locked into fixed platform rates. Choose what you charge, when you work, and which bookings fit your life.

Show up for what actually matters

Help real people during the critical in between periods, like the weeks after a hospital discharge or finding stability after a life altering diagnosis.

No rigid contracts or minimums

Accept a single visit, support someone through a four week recovery, or build a trusted relationship for the long haul.

Direct, transparent communication

Message members and hop on quick intro calls before committing, so expectations are aligned before you ever knock on the door.

Safety and standards

Every helper completes an identity and criminal background check. Arrival and departure updates keep members and their loved ones in the loop.

Non clinical support

Sabay helpers provide practical support with daily life, transportation, and companionship. You will never be asked to do nursing or medical tasks.

Who you'll support

Real moments in real life. Many members look for a helper who shares their language, culture, or identity, because support feels better from someone who gets it when you are at your most vulnerable.

Injury and surgery recovery

Helping someone manage with one arm, navigate stairs, or fetch groceries while they follow strict orders to rest and heal.

Navigating a diagnosis

Providing a calm, reliable presence on the hard days and the routine ones after a major diagnosis such as MS or an autoimmune condition.

Life transitions

Being a familiar face who handles the everyday friction while someone finds their footing in a new chapter.
